Hello All!
I've been a busy beaver between my husband coming home from deployment, working full-time, planning our wedding and going to school for esthetics at night. I anticipate graduating by November 10th and plan to dive head first into my makeup business and career opportunities as an esthetician.
A friend from school has recently told me about a job opportunity as an esthetician at Massage Envy, a nationally recognized chain focussing mainly on massage but has recently incorporated esthetics into their practice. I will be calling/meeting with the regional manager shortly to discuss the possiblities of employment!
Once I finish school, I will begin writing more about my path and goals for the upcoming year of 2012!

Makeup Gig
I did the hair and makeup of my first model today, and she looked fantastic! She has re-booked me for her photo shoot this Thursday. I plan to create a website and Facebook page dedicated to my new makeup business! =)

Tip to Cover Pimples
If you have a big event coming up or you're just going out for a night on the town, and you get a big zit; it can be frustrating! When you try to cover the zit with makeup, it seems to get all caked in it and looks worse. Here's a tip to try--cleanse and tone the area thoroughly, apply some salicylic acid to the area and cover with liquid bandade! Liquid bandaid is an antiseptic, so the zit will stay clean and protected while providing a smooth layer over the top of it. Makeup then glides on smooth, and you can go out feeling confident!
Professional Makeup Artist Opportunity
Hello All!
I most recently blogged about my interests in both inner and outer beauty. Since then I have met all of the right people to open the doors of the beuaty world. I met a woman at work who is a professional makeup artist. She then introduced me to her contact at the MAC counter. I have since interviewed with them and am patiently awaiting a phone call to tell me I have my orientation training. In the midst of the excitement with MAC, I was introduced to an aspiring professional photographer who just opened up her own business. She has a studio in her home as well as all of the professional equipment and props needed to take some amazing photos. I did a Boudoir photo shoot with her (to give to my hunny as a wedding gift), and I did my own hair and makeup. She was very impressed and has hired me to be her professional makeup artist and stylist. I was ecstatic about this news to say the least, but I was a little overwhelmed with decisions on where to start with buying the makeup and supplies I needed to pursue my small business. While at school last Saturday, my teacher mentioned that there was an ad on Craigslist selling a complete set of MAC makeup for a great price. After contacting the woman, I was able to get all of the makeup and supplies I needed to start my business! Everything has fallen into place so quickly and smoothly. It was meant to be! I truly believe that all of this happened because I manifested it into my life (please watch "The Secret" DVD). I believed in myself, thought and felt positive thoughts and emotions, and willed all the wonderful things and people into my life. I will be doing the hair and makeup for my first client tomorrow, and I only expect this adventure to flourish as time goes on! So please take my advice and truly believe in yourself, believe that anything is possible, and think positive thoughts. You will attract positive situations and great people into your lives to make your hopes and dreams come true!
Ps- If anyone needs their hair/makeup done for proms, portraits, weddings, etc, please contact me at makeupbykrystalross@yahoo.com! =) You can also check out Madison's website (the photographer I'm working with) at http://www.madisonbphotography.com/ or dolledupboudoir.com for Boudoir photos. She is offering great deals right now as she is just starting out. Her photos are amazing!
Also, if anyone is interested in a facial for $25, please contact me. I only have 10 more requirements to fulfill at school before I will need to charge full price (which is $70).
If anyone is interested in a Reiki treatment, then please let me know also! I can do a one-hour full-body treatment for $50 or concentrate on a specific area for 1/2 hour for $30.

My Journey
Hello All!
My name is Krystal, and I'm going to start out by telling you a bit about how I got from point A to point B. I grew up in a small town in rural Vermont, lived on a dirt road, and listened to Toby Keith until I couldn't two-step any longer! I soaked up all of the life lessons nature had to offer yet I still longed for the glitz and glamour. My college career didn't take place too far from home. I moved from Northern Vermont to Southern Vermont, which was a little bit closer to the big cities! I started my educational journey as a psychology major at a small college in the mountains of Southern Vermont. I loved the personalization of a small classroom, and I loved learning about the human mind and behaviors. Most of all, I loved the fact that once I graduated and became a counselor, I could help heal so many people. Toward the end of my college career I felt a constant battle between becoming a counselor and becoming someone who would make others feel good on the outside. I felt like the two contradicted each other in so many ways. However, I finally realized that they actually go hand in hand. Balance is the key to a successful, healthy life and to have balance one must feel good on the inside and outside--hence inner and outer beauty.
After I graduated, I worked in an office as an administrative assistant while pursuing my interests in the natural world. I started my Masters in Wellness where I wrote countless essays about optimal health in all areas of life. I studied health, fitness, spirituality, and the environment. For one semester I focussed solely on the connection between the body, mind, soul and nature. I experienced sweat lodges, chanting, nature journaling, hypnotherapy, and most importantly a vision quest. The vision quest consisted of hiking up a mountain with only the necessities on my back. I brought a tent, sleeping bag, bug spray, a first aid kit, a yoga mat, a journal and water. I sat for 3 days on the mountaintop: meditating, writing, and finding myself and my meaning in this world. It was eye-opening to say the least! The conclusion I came to was that I am meant for inspiring and motivating people to lead healthier, happier, more fulfilled lives using multiple resources. Soon after the vision quest, I longed to learn more and more about natural healing remedies. I then decided to become a Reiki Master. Reiki is universal life energy used to promote healing and relaxation among many other benefits. It's administered by laying the hands on or over the body and channel energy to bring health and well-being to the recipient. It's amazing, and I continue to use Reiki daily to myself and others.
In the midst of finding myself and my quest for life, I met my fiance, Jason. Jason is in the Navy. About 8 months after dating we moved to Virginia. We started our lives together, yet I was still unsure of exactly what I wanted to do with my life professionally. I started working at an insurance company just to pay the bills, but my real passions lie with helping others in a personal way. After brainstorming about where I wanted to start; I decided to start night school to become an esthetician. I LOVE studying the skin and products to improve the skin! I have also become extremely interested in makeup application.
My goal is to bring what I have learned about psychology, health and fitness, reiki, skincare, beauty and wellness as a whole into your lives. I want to inspire you to become balanced in all of life's dimensions: physical, spiritual, intellectual, occupational, social, emotional and environmental. High-level wellness requires a balance and interconnectedness between all seven dimensions. My objective is to help you create a more meaningful and satisfying way of life under any circumstances.
I hope you follow me on this journey through life and stick around to find out about beauty tips and products, how to stay on track with good nutrition and exercise, how nature can be your best teacher and how feel GOOD about ourselves!
Love, Peace, Balance,
Krystal
